REFLEXOLOGY 101

A Basic Understanding of Reflexology
Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the fingers and thumb on these reflex areas.

Reflexology is not a substitute for a medical doctor. It is an adjunctive to the medical profession and must be regarded as such.

The feet are an exact mirror image of the glands, organs and parts of the body. All the nerves end in the feet, hands and head. The reflex areas in the feet are more pronounced and easier to access.

If there is a problem, it shows up as a tender spot on the foot. A trained reflexologist will work the tender areas, thus improving nerve and blood supply to the affected areas.

You decide how much pressure is applied. Once the tenderness is gone, there is no problem. This could take several sessions.

The head reflex is the big toe. The stomach is in the middle of the foot and the pelvic at the heel.

They correspond anatomically to the body. In the picture below, the colors coordinate.

Take for example if you have a sinus issue it will be tender in the toes area.

Constipation will show up in the middle and lower areas of the feet.

A sciatic problem will show up in the heel and around the ankle.
